Careers in accounting can be exciting, rewarding, lucrative—and practical. Nearly every business or organization requires accounting services.

Entry-level, practical accounting careers are often available to graduates with associate degrees. Individuals in this field will develop skills valuable to their employer. Tasks within these careers include:

- Receivables, payables, collections
- Bookkeeping
- Payroll accounting
- Budgeting
- Financial accounting
Financial or managerial accounting careers usually require a bachelor’s degree and some type of professional credential, such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA). Delta has pre-approved transfer partnerships with several universities, most accept two years of Delta credits, some even accept three years of credit. Individuals successfully following this career track often acquire desirable and highly marketable skill sets, which qualify them for advancement across organizations.
